Some of our guests comments on days out from Chester:Anderton Boat LiftAnderton,
Northwich, Cheshire CW9 6FW Y. H. described this as "a good day out. Parked at nearby country park and walked through the woods and along the canal. £5 entry to the visitor centre well worth it. Lots of hands on activities for the children and outdoor play and picnic area. Pub garden in Anderton with canal viewing area also good." May 2009. Snowdon Mountain RailwayLlanberis, Gwynedd, Mr & Mrs C said the most memorable aspect of their stay at Baker's Cottage was "without doubt the day trip to Snowdonia. We fully recommend the rail trip. Scenery is breathtaking". June 2010. Mr & Mrs Q said "After a relatively easy drive we took the scenic railway up Snowdon. A truly memorable experience - the spectacular landscape will stay with us forever." October 2008. Beeston castle11 miles SE of Chester signposted from A49, tel: 01829 260464. "Beeston castle is also well worth a look." M. H. June 2005. We agree - the castle is set on a 350 ft sheer rocky crag with stunning views over the surrounding countryside from the Welsh mountains to the Penines. Although, Mr & Mrs W. found it "disappointing and muddy". The Waterworld at WrexhamBodhyfryd, Wrexham, tel: 01978 297300. "The Waterworld at Wrexham is also a great afternoon. The flume and river pool are the best we've come across. Be careful of little ones in the river pool as the current in there is very strong even for adults walking around!" M. H. June 2005.
